Renewal isn’t going to happen without prayer, lots of it. Here’s how you can be involved in praying for our mission.
New Dawn was founded by members of the Prince of Peace Community back in the 1980s. Over the years, the community has amassed prayers for bringing about the New Dawn in the Church. In praying these prayers, you join people up and down the country praying for the renewal of the Faith in our lands. Outside of these prayers, we also encourage you to pray the rosary as we believe that Mary and her shrine in Walsingham are at the heart of renewal in England.
In 1962, Pope John XXIII prayed the Novena to the Holy Spirit for a ‘New Pentecost’ in preparation for the Second Vatican Council.
—
Renew Your wonders in this our day as by a new Pentecost
Father, pour out Your Spirit upon Your people and grant us a
new vision of Your glory,
a new experience of Your Power,
a new faithfulness to Your Word and
a new consecration to Your service, that Your love may grow among us and Your Kingdom come through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
God the Holy Spirit,
Comforter and Sanctifier,
melt our hearts
that we may accept Your love,
renew our minds that we may know Your Truth,
strengthen our wills
that we may serve You faithfully,
through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
The Daily Prayer For Priests was composed by Saint Faustina and prayed daily by Myles Dempsey (founder of the Prince of Peace Community & New Dawn). Myles had a strong devotion/charism in praying for Christ’s Shepherds and greatly influenced the vocation of many priests!
—
Heavenly Father, grant that our Priests be strengthened and healed by the power of the Eucharist they celebrate. May the Word they proclaim give them courage and wisdom. We pray that all those whom they seek to serve, may see in them the love and care of Jesus our Eternal High Priest, who is Lord for ever and ever. Amen.
Mary, Mother of the Church, look tenderly upon your sons, our Priests.
The Prayer for England was composed by Pope Leo XXIII’s English Secretary of State, the great Cardinal Merry del Val. Pope Leo included the prayer in his 1895 Apostolic Letter promoting religious unity with Christians in England: Amantissimae Voluntatis.
—
O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our most gentle Queen and Mother, look down upon England your Dowry and upon us all who greatly hope and trust in you.
By you it was that Jesus our Saviour and our hope was given to the world; and He has given you to us that we might hope still more.
Plead for us your children, whom you did receive and accept at the foot of the cross, O Sorrowful Mother.
Intercede for our separated brethren, that with us in the one true fold they may be united to the Chief Shepherd, the Vicar of your Son.
Pray for us all, dear Mother, that by faith fruitful in good works we may deserve to see and praise God, together with you, in our heavenly home.
Amen.
The Memorare, is a powerful 15th century prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, prayed by many saints. St Mother Teresa especially promoted the Memorare with her emergency novena (praying the Memorare nine times in a row, adding a tenth in thanksgiving). Many who have followed Mother Teresa’s practice have reported miracles and answered prayers.
—
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
That never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help or
sought thy intercession, was left forsaken.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
To thee I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
Despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy,
Hear and answer my prayer.
Amen.
The Angelus, is an 11th-century Marian devotion traditionally recited three times a day (9am, noon and 6pm). In 1475 Pope Sixtus IV granted an indulgence to anyone who recited the Angelus at noon, followed by Pope Leo X in 1517 and Pope Pius XI (1922-1939), who both granted an indulgence to anyone who prayed the Angelus at morning, noon and evening.

V: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
Let us Pray:
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection. Through the same Christ our Lord, Amen.
The Salve Regina is an ancient hymn to the Blessed Virgin Mary, dating back to the 12th century.
—
O Clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.
The Breastplate of Saint Patrick is over 1,500 years old and recognised as one of the most powerful prayers against evil.
