Monday to Friday, here’s the plan for this year’s New Dawn in Walsingham.
We are blessed to have a Pericardium Relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis coming from Assisi to Walsingham for New Dawn 2024. Monsignor Anthony Figueiredo, STD, will give an inspirational talk on Blessed Carlo and offer veneration of his relic on Wednesday 7th August.
The Handbook for New Dawn 2024 is here! Download it to be sure you have everything in one place for when you join us in Walsingham.
Download nowNew Dawn is an experience of the Church at its best. You can expect five days of outstanding keynotes, times of prayer, powerful praise and worship, practical workshops, and fellowship. We also provide age-appropriate ministries, with a creche and a children’s and youth ministry stream, separate from the main programme.
The love of God the Father
On day one, we start by focusing on the love of God the Father.
God is our father and loves us personally and unconditionally. We begin our days together allowing ourselves to be loved by God the Father.
We begin with Holy Mass, the official welcome, and hear our first keynote on the love of God the Father followed by praise and worship.
Sin & reconciliation
On the second day of our pilgrimage, we look at what separates us from God's love and try to recognise our condition as sinners in need of salvation. We are loved sinners who cannot save ourselves. We need a saviour. We need Jesus.
This is the focus of the day's keynotes which builds towards our evening reconciliation service and candlelight procession.
Our Lady of Walsingham & Jesus the Saviour
On Wednesday, we focus on how we can know Jesus personally, and His mother Mary, whom the shrine of Walsingham is dedicated to. Mary leads us to Jesus her Son.
This day is all about the Good News that Jesus has already saved you by means of His Death and Resurrection and how we can meet Him, alive, today!
In the evening we hold our healing service, which is an opportunity to encounter Jesus and be healed by Him. “Jesus Christ is Lord, now and forever, Amen!”
Proclaiming Jesus Lord of your Life & the Holy Spirit
Having experienced the love of God and encountered His Son Jesus, this day is about change, opening our hearts to Jesus and proclaiming Him as our only Saviour and Lord.
It is also an opportunity to experience the Holy Spirit, the third Divine Person of the Trinity and to ask to renew the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Real change, real conversion can only happen through the Holy Spirit.
This evening, you have the opportunity to be prayed with by our team for a Baptism in the Holy Spirit to refresh and reawaken the spiritual and charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Church, community, evangelisation & mission
On our final day together, we’ll be looking at how you can continue to live this new life by being a part of the Catholic community and how you can spread the Good News to others! We have received so much and Jesus tells us to go back to our communities and share this with others.
‘“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.”’ (Matthew 28:19-20)
